By donating to the Paradise Valley Emergency Food Bank you are eligible for the Credit for Donations made to Qualifying Charitable Organizations. (Formerly called the Arizona Working Poor Tax Credit.) Make your donation during any taxable year and claim your tax credit!

The State of Arizona offers a tax Credit for Donations made to Qualifying Charitable Organizations. This provision allows individuals to take a dollar-for-dollar tax credit for a donation to the P V E F B. This is in addition to the public school tax credit and the private school tax credit available for AZ taxpayers.

Taxpayers filing as single and head of household status may claim a maximum credit of $400. Taxpayers who file as married filing joint may claim a maximum credit of $800. You no longer have to itemize your deductions to take advantage of this tax credit. Note that the maximums credits have increased since last year! Another change is that you may claim the deduction in the previous tax year for donations made by April 15 if you file based on a calendar year.
